Abstract

265
Richard Dawkins holds the chair of public understanding of science at Oxford University. He is a combative atheist who attacks religion in a very direct way. In his book A Devil’s Chaplain he presents his criticism, which has been radicalized since the events of September 11, 2001. Dawkins’ arguments are apparently supported by the sciences, and he represents science and religion as irreconcilably opposed. Here Dawkin’s arguments are analyzed, particularly in their alleged relation with science.
