Abstract

41
las Cruzadas, a favor de Tierra Santa.
Jerusalem and by extension, the Holy Land, were of great importance for Spanish Christians in the medieval era. This is reflected in some areas of interest, such as pilgrimages, which began in the 4th century and became more intense in the 8th and 9th centuries. The Spanish contribution to the Crusades was also very important, not only in the military aspect, but also in the literary ambit of the troubadours and in the world of ideas, with the contributions of Blessed Raymond Lull. Lastly, the protective actions undertaken by Spain in favor of the Holy Land after the crusades are discussed.
