Abstract

110
Franz Brentano and Leonardo Polo: an approach on the meaning of "psychism". One of the most important critiques of Brentano's thought has been the one of "psycholigism". Nevertheless, a correct study of some of his thesis (on intentionality, on representation and judgement, on asersion) cannot prove this conclusion. On the other hand, a comparision to Polo's notion of life —especially, cognoscitive Uve and its relation to the physical realm- allows us to understand better Brentano's proposal on the psychical aspect of knowledgment. All these show that Husserl's correction to Brentano's notion of intentionality —i.e., its idealization- is not valid.
