Abstract

405
This study analyzes an emergent process of new consumption trends. It is characterized by the rejection to the massive and uniform consumption and favours a behaviour which we call: “the wistful consumption of aristocracy”, of which we describe its main features: the slow time pace, the aesthetic reflexivity in the style and in lifestyles, the preference for fashion and luxury, the local dandyism and the melancholic emotivity. This research concludes pointing out the conditions of possibility of this wistful consumption of aristocracy.
