Abstract

119
According to Nietzsche, “it is a sign of achieved freedom not to feel ashamed of oneself”. Considering this, we propose to analyse shame from a psychological and moral approach. But before that, shame will be analysed both phenomenologically and ontologically. Assessing Straus’s, Scheler’s and Bollnow’s views, we will survey the notion of “transcendental shame” to pave the way for the psychological and moral analysis of shame.
