Abstract

110
This work discusses the argument presented by Carmichael (2010) for the existence of transcendent universals, i.e., universals that do not require instantiations to exist. H ere it is contended that a proposition can correctly describe a possible world without existing as part of that world, i.e., a proposition can be true of a possible world, without being true in a possible world. It is further contended that the same premises used by Carmichael allow the justification of Necessitism.
