Abstract

In this article, the writer proposes that quality journalism requires intuitive think ing along with profound changes in the way journalists and media owners understand their work. From this stand point, the author suggests that some heterodoxies could help to improve journalistic practice: 1) the rethinking of media ownership; 2) the pursuit of levity in contents instead of
traditional and boring seriousness; 3) the redesign of organizational structures, not only of newspaper formats; 4) the necessity of attending reader's needs more than journalist's interests and worries; 5) the search of "total journalism".
