Abstract

81
In the Real Academia de la Historia (Madrid) there are a set of 8 iron bars without provenience but probably found in Celtiberia (Central Spain). These bars, with other found in a Celtiberian hillforth in Villar del Horno (Cuenca), are the only irons bars as far known in Celtiberia. These iron bars have a European LT origin and parallels from England to Central Europe. Its metrology belongs to a "Celtiberian pound" of c. 455 g and they can be dated between the IV and the II century B.C. They are a important document on the iron industry in Celtiberia, so well known in Antiquity.
