In the classical world of antiquity, the gardens were a key means not only link with the divinities , or agricultural , burial and philosophical practices , but a way of personal, family and political aggrandizement , which was used by both leaders as cults characters socially elevated areas . With the advent of the Hellenistic influences in the late Roman Republic , the traditional hortus suffer a series of changes which would be born a new concept of garden in both its structure and its functions, whose influence was felt in the course of later centuries.
