Abstract

379
After the recent works that had taken place at the hermitage of Santa María de Zamatze (Uharte‐Arakil, Navarra, Spain), we can conclude that they belong to the mansio of Aracaeli, mentioned in the Antonine Itinerary, in road number 34, between Asturica Augusta (Astorga) and Burdigalam (Bordeaux), from the northwest of Hispania to the southwest of Gaule through the western Pyrenees. The different rooms discovered coincide with the way the mansiones were built up.
