The author explains what is understood as gender and ideology of gender in relation with the anthropological reality of matrimony, in the cultural context of today. According to the ideological conception explained, the gender would be independent to the sexual condition, that would exclusively be derived from the will of the individual. Facing the grave consequences of this ideology -whose cultural bases are described by the author-, a positive response from the science and from the society is possible and desirable.
