Abstract

85
The compact corpus of Quevedo’s «clock poetry» —borrowing Eugenio Asensio’s fitting expression— represents one of the earliest and more relevant examples of Baroque European poetry, where a complex metaphorical and symbolic web of references has been built. These poems give way to a feeling of time that moves in an analogous relationship between human life and the symbol of clock.
