Protecting the environment is not an issue raised only in Modern times. The major monotheistic religions have called for respecting the environment which is created by God. As far Christianity is concerned, any believer must not only take care of his/her natural surroundings but also insure their sustainability. There is no doubt that currently we can observe an exaltation of nature as an entity but this perspective is likely to jeopardize the nature of the human world. Such an ecological thought can be qualified as eco-centric and it deprives human beings of any transcendentalism.

RIGHTS TRANSFER
