Ascorbic acid in the adrenal glands of animals submitted to the action of physical and traumatic agents

Abstract
This study concerns the action that coid and violent injuries produces in the lavel of vitamen C in the adrenal glands of guineapigs. Some of the animals, before the injury, are injected with preparations of «Doca» («Percorten» soluble in water). An increase of ascorbic acid is found in those animals exposed to low temperaturas. Injected previously with «Doca» a slight rise vitamen C is likewise observed. On the contrary, in those injured but not injected the quantity of vitamen C is considerably lowered.
