Vasomotor actions of the circulatory isolated head. 1st communication

Abstract
The circulatory isolation of the head is realized in the dog, the former being kept alive by means of artificial circulation with homologous blood. The rest of the animal conserves its own circulation. In this way two independent circuits are established: the head circulation (artificial) and the animal’s own circulation. However all nervous connections are conserved and the functional unity is not lost.
