Experiments on cardiac surgery with a bloodless heart in hypotermia

Abstract
On this paper we gather the results of the first experiments because we consider they are usefull.
The technique used has been Swan’s fast and total cooling and reheating, A thoracotomy through the 4th and 5th right intercostal spaces has been practiced on all the cases; after ligating the azygos big loops were passed around the cavas after previously having dissected the phrenic and once the clampage was done, a right auriculotomy was allmost always practiced and on some occasions a ventriculotomy of the same side. An electrocardiographic control has been kept all along the intervention, practicing some isolated determinations on some elements.
