Abstract

91
Local theatre culture of Cesky Krumlov (Southern Bohemia) comes from 2nd half of 16th Century. Until the present day there has been a Baroque theatre situated in the castle and it is considered to be a Europea rarity. The castle library which is expected to have one of the most important book funds of the Czech Republic contains book collections belonging to the House of Eggenberg and Schwarzenberg. The works from the library written in Spanish are thematically the same as the ones being read in Spain and in Europe at that time. As for Spanish plays deposited there we can mention the following ones –an anonymus play “Thebaida”, “Tragicomedy of Calisto and Melibea” by F. Rojas, tragedias by Cristóbal Virués, eight collections comedies by Lope de Vega and two plays by Calderón de la Barca.
