Abstract

70
This article presents an analysis of Dulce María Loynaz’s essays considered as a macrotext in which it is possible to distinguish recurrences, continuities and tensions. A thematic approach is followed, searching for the concepts related to poetry, the role of the poet in general and that of the poetess, the latter as it appears in the lectures dedicated to Gertrudis Gómez de Avellaneda (1957), Gabriela Mistral (1957) and Delmira Agustini (1979). The analysis of “Poetisas de América” (1951) leads to Loynaz’s more personal hypotheses and points to the multiple strategies perspective of current gender studies, the role that Loynaz’s essays played in the consolidation of the myth of Latin American poetesses.
