Gregorio Salvador explains the linguistic phenomenon that consists in the loss of the Latin initial F-, and he does it through Geology. Limy fluorine-free water guarantees the early loss of the teeth: something that causes a difficulty in the articulation. However, Maruri proves experimentally that water in springs in Castile and the High Aragon are poor in fluoride; in this way, the perfect conservation of the Latin initial F- by speakers of the High Aragon cannot be explained.
