Abstract

95
This research seeks to prove the Internet a new technology, which may deepen the differences among youth, granting some of them a different perception of time and space so that they may develop new communication abilities while others do not. We endeavor to debate the progress paradigm according to which diffusion of a new technology is generally interpreted as an equitable social development alternative. Herein are described different gap levels taking into account the fact of connecting or not to the internet, the proximity and the time of connection. Besides, another sort of gap may be observed, related to the functions available in the Internet, and the abilities required to operate them.
