Effect of insulin on fat mobilization

Abstract
The action of insulin have been studied on the fatty acid of the adipose tissue. The adipose tissue of a animal fasting and feeding later on a better result is obtained about the lipogenetic action of insulin if we have previously treated the animal with tol- butamida. On the animals of experimentation it has been used dogs after 22 hours of fasting and then they were supply a meal pleanty of carbohidrates. After 4 hours a samples of adipose tissue were taken witch were placed in Krebs-Ringer bicarbonate (pH 7.2). The used method was Ball et al., placing in the flasks of Warburg 0.5 ml of the following product: insulin 0.1 U/ml and adding 2.3 and 4 mg/ml of glucose at 37° C. Other tests were taken place after fasting and realimentation inyecting tolbutamide 10 % i.u. half an hour before taking the sample. It was observed that liberation of CO2 is accelerated on account of insulin and the result is related with the amount of glucose. In orden to the action of tolbutamide on inhibition of liberation of CO2, was observed what we think that this product an inact state.
