Abstract

Pyridoxine hydrochloride in vitro at concentrations 5X10-3 10~s M depreses the uptake of oxygen and glucose by the rat brain slices, this effect seems to be independent of potassium concentration in the médium of incubation; it inhibits oxygen consumption by whole brain homogenates and increases oxygen uptake by diaphragm and liver homogenates of the male albino rats.
