El Ejército como medio de represión de la información en la España de Franco

Abstract
No fue sólo el poder político el encargado de establecer las barreras informativas en cada momento. Una de las instituciones sobre las que se asentaba el régimen de Franco era el Ejército, y éste tenía la posibilidad de actuar sobre la información cuando perjudicaba o contravenía sus intereses. Así se dieron casos de procesamiento y encarcelamiento de periodistas dentro de la jurisdicción castrense tras someterles a consejos de guerra. Realmente el Ejército era, como suele decirse, un poder fáctico.
Con la ampliación, por parte del poder político, de los límites informativos impuestos a la prensa escrita, se tornaron más
frecuentes los conflictos o fricciones entre periódicos y Administración. En otras ocasiones se encargó también de castigar a
los autores de ciertas informaciones u opiniones el Tribunal de Orden Público, esto es, una jurisdicción especial de justicia. A partir de 1967, con la reforma del Código Penal, se abrió una nueva vía de represión: la responsabilidad penal por infracciones cometidas contra el célebre artículo 2 de la ley de prensa. Pero no debe olvidarse que se dieron casos, como los que aquí analizaremos, en que fue el Ejército quien se encargó directamente de la condena a periodistas o
colaboradores habituales de la prensa.
