Abstract

2070
The purpose of this experimental study, using pretest-postest-follow-up measurements, with one experimental group and one control group, was to verify whether a mindfulness programme produces a reduction in levels of emotional tiredness and burnout, and improves the levels of academic engagement in a group of university psychology students. In the experimental group we can observe a significant decrease in emotional tiredness and burnout and a significant increase in academic engagement. Follow-up measures showed that these results were maintained for six months after the termination of the intervention in the experimental group. The importance and usefulness of mindfulness techniques in the educative system is discussed.
