Abstract

200
The author analyses the mythology of Francisco de Quevedo from a corpus of bibliophile works of the xx-xxith centuries, books that involved artists such as Manuel Alcorlo, Salvador Dalí, Luis García Ochoa, Manuel Menán, José Luis Cuevas, etc. The article tries to define the contemporary reception we got from the myths of Quevedo (poetry and prose) and it uses the concept of «myth» according to an «essentialist» and «existentialist» as a methodological tool.

The author understands the Quevedo’s myths as «logos» (graphic narrative) and as «myths» (iconographic representation). This research also demonstrates the permanence of Quevedo’s myths in our contemporary arts, through a cross-sectional study of Quevedo’s rhetorical images and graphic images of the XX-XXI centuries in Europe and Latin America
