Abstract

The protein synthesis carried out by isolated chloroplasts from young pea leaves is stu- died in relation to extraction and suspensión media, age of plants and number of washings. A procedure to measure proteins in the same dises prepared for radioactivity measures is indicated. Intact chloroplasts are more active than broken chloroplasts for protein synthesis.

The inactivation observed along time of incubation is partially produced by the presence of ATP, which produces chloroplast breakdown.
