Phenolphthalein in the analytical investigation of acetone

Abstract
Following our studies on new coloured reactions for the analytical estimation of carbonilic compounds of biochemical interest, we obtain the bisulphite compound of phenolphtaleine as a crystalline powder, mixed with neutral sodium sulphite. The properties of the same are studied comparatively with other similar compounds and its use for the colorimetric microanalysis of acetone is tested in the best conditions of sensibility. We propose for all Chemical process of this type the denomination of transhydroxysulfonations, accordingly its resemblance with transesterifications.
