"Reality shows" a la española. ¿Telemorbo frente al derecho a la intimidad?

Abstract
No sé si este nuevo género televisivo es una consecuencia más de la tendencia decadente que invade tantos aspectos de la vida social española, o si, en realidad, su creación responde tan sólo a una buena estrategia empresarial para rentabilizar las televisiones. El caso es que aquí están, y que a pesar de las polémicas suscitadas entre sus detractores y admiradores, programas como "Quién sabe dónde", "Código uno", "Al filo de la ley" y "Misterios sin resolver" han conseguido audiencias millonarias en un breve espacio de tiempo.
Sin entrar en la discusión de si son buenos o malos programas, de si tienen o no justificado su carácter de periodísticos, deseo, y este es el objeto de mi comunicación, reflexionar sobre una cuestión que late en el transfondo de la controversia; ¿cómo se puede y debe respetar la intimidad de las personas en el tratamiento informativo del dolor?

RIGHTS TRANSFER
By submitting the article for evaluation and subsequent publication in Communicaton & Society, the AUTHOR grants exclusive economic and/or exploitation rights: reproduction, distribution, public communication, transformation/translation/creation of derivative works, and commercialisation to the University of Navarra through its Publications Service, for the maximum legal period in force -the author's lifetime and seventy years after his or her death or declaration of death-, in any country, and in any of the current and future publishing modalities, both in print and electronic versions.
